Matt Ryan

Matt Ryan is an old fart gamer from the Finger Lakes region of New York State. Born between generations, he self-identifies as one-half hippie and one-half punk. He first met fantasy role-playing games in between listening to Black Sabbath records and reading Marvel Comics’ Savage Sword of Conan, and it was love at first sight.

A failed undergraduate English major and the son of a graphic artist, Matt has no professional training or qualifications. Despite that, he was a major contributor to Atlas Game’s Ars Magica 5th Edition, co-authoring and providing the cartagraphy for over a dozen supplements. He currently draws maps and other lovely things for Chaosium’s Call of Cthulhu. Matt is also one-half of the production team of Reckoning of the Dead, a blog focusing on RPG horror scenarios.

During the daylight hours Matt is the Instructional Technology Coordinator for an Ivy League University Library, an elevated title that incorporates all facets of Audio-Video work. (They wouldn’t let him put “AV Monkey” on the business card.) He is approachable, affable, enthusiastic, and always ready to help.
